8th Graders Celebrated in Style

Our 2021-2022 8th grade students were celebrated throughout their last weeks of school.  They selected their superlative winners, who are listed below.  Their final field trip to PineCrest was held on Friday.  This day is spent fishing, boating, swimming, and hanging out.  On Monday, their parents threw a wonderful party complete with a water slide, great food, and hula skirts.

Tuesday was the culmination of all of their hard work with graduation.  These students donned the blue and gold and stood in front of a gym packed with loved ones.  After a video showcasing the students and their time at Lonedell, the band played the Star Spangled Banner.  Awards were handed out for excellent grades in all core areas.  Students were honored for extra curricular activities such as Art Club, Honor Choir, Band, NJHS, and Student Council.

Dr. Dierker spoke to the group about being thankful, thankful for their teachers, parents, and reminded them that all of these people are there for them for their entire lives, 'Once a Bobcat, Always a Bobcat'.  Mrs. Vollmer awarded the Bobcat Pride recipients, Mackenzi.e B. and Josh R.  These students were chosen for being the epitome of bobcat leaders.  The Citizenship award was given to Peyton P.  This honor is given to a single student who shows kindness, hard work, attendance, and respect.  The Salutatorian, Lindsay R., spoke to the crowd about her 10 years as a bobcat and the excitement she feels to move on to new experiences.  Valedictorian, Triniti A., then took the stage.  She shared stories of her favorite times at Lonedell since Kindergarten.  Our top five academic students were recognized:  Triniti A., Lindsay R., Ethan C., Jackson C., and Kylee B.  After the speeches, Dr. Dierker called each student's name as they received their diplomas.

We will surely miss this group of students and wish them well as they move onto various high schools.
