Mrs. Emmons to Retire, Wayne Dierker to Join District

Sue Emmons will be entering retirement after summer school for the 2017 school year.  She has been with the Lonedell District for 11 years.  She joined as a Special Education Instructor in the 2005-2006 school year.  She moved on to Special Education Director/Assistant Principal, and currently serves as the Elementary Principal.  She has held onto her Special Education Director duties and handles Federal Program management as well.  Mrs. Emmons will be greatly missed.  She has a love for the students of Lonedell that is difficult to match.  However, retirement is an awesome thing, and we are hopeful she will volunteer in our district after she enjoys some well deserved time off.

While there truly is no replacement for Mrs. Emmons, the district is pleased to announce that Wayne Dierker will be joining as our principal for the 2017-2018 school year.  Mr. Dierker is a home grown Lonedellian, graduating from Lonedell School in 2007.  You  may remember him as the recipient of the Citizenship Award for his class.  After his 8th grade graduation, he went on to St. Clair High School, then attended Southeast Missouri State and studied Math and Social Studies, and earned his Masters in School Administration and Supervision.  He is currently continuing his education at Saint Louis University, pursuing his doctorate degree in Education Leadership.  Throughout his adulthood, he has continually volunteered his time at Lonedell events, most recently at the Spring Fling, as a graduate supporting our scholarship committee and PTO.

During his career, Mr. Dierker has taught Mathematics at Jackson, R-2 and St. Clair High School.  He has served several Administrative Internships at St. Clair in Elementary, Junior and Senior High areas.  In speaking with Mr. Dierker about coming to Lonedell as an Administration member instead of a student, he says, "I am honored, grateful, and beyond excited to join Lonedell R-14 Elementary next year as the principal.  I am excited to get to work serving all the students in the Lonedell community by ensuring that as a school we are working to push each individual student to success.  Lonedell is already a top notch school, but I know that in a partnership with the teachers, staff, parents, and, most importantly, the students we will achieve continued excellence.  I am excited to get started on working to build meaningful relationships, supporting teachers and all staff members, and working to build up tomorrows leaders."  We are excited to have you here as well, Mr. Dierker!
