8th Grade Class Collects Canned Soup for Meals on Wheels
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOur 8th grade class recently held a canned soup drive. The donated soup is being provided to our local Meals on Wheels organization. Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America through a network of more than 5,000 independently-run local programs. Not only are nutritious meals provided, companionship and someone to check on the health and safety of seniors is also a core component of the program.
On occasion, the weather causes roads to be impassible, making it impossible to deliver meals. Each recipient is provided with items such as the donated canned soup to make sure they will have a hot meal on those days as well. Thanks to you, we were able to donate dozens of cans of soup to help our older residents.
