TREND Leaders Attend Red Ribbon Training

Recently, 15 Lonedell TREND leaders from grades 6-8th went to the Red Ribbon Training hosted by the NCADA.  The students were escorted by TREND sponsors, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Tiger.  Task force Officer Frank Magel spoke to them about the history of the Red Ribbon Campaign and why we continue it today.  They also heard about the dangers of e-cigarettes, vaping, alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs.  Joe Fingerhut gave a humorous message to the students about making good choices. The leaders will bring back what they've learned by holding events and teaching lessons to Lonedell students during our Red Ribbon Week held in late October.  To become a TREND Leader, students had to apply, get staff endorsements, and be chosen by a panel of staff.

TREND Leaders are Abby B., Piper Dunn., Raina D., Katryna B., Paiton H., Charlee D., Riley L., Zak O., Emma J., Ryan M., Charlie W., Ashley M., Gracie M., Emma Q., and Madi U.
