Power of 11 Cents
We recently looked into what you can do with 11 cents. The answer is, not much. Some items you can buy for 11 cents or less are One Anise Square Candy, One 1/4" Cherry Wood Plug, and an STB-015 3/32" OD Tubing Bender. Even a single piece of Super Bubble is too pricey, at 19 cents. But when several people bring together their own 11 cents, it can make a huge difference for a veteran.
Started as the “Power of 11 cents” program in 2005, because Veterans’ Day is celebrated nationally on November 11, we are continuing the effort to support the Veteran’s in need. Students are asked to donate 11 cents to help veterans and their families who face unexpected financial constraints because of their service. This is a reminder that even the smallest amount and effort to help others in need can make a real difference!
Please join us at Lonedell R-14 School this year as we celebrate our military men and women serving their country by helping support them in times of need. Send 11 cents to your child’s classroom teacher. Student Council will be collecting each day from Tuesday, November 6 to Friday, November 9. Money collected will be given to the St. Clair VFW and they will distribute it to veterans in need.
