TREND Plans Red Ribbon Week & Dances the Night Away
TREND Club recently celebrated Halloween with 5th through 8th grade students with a dance complete with costumes. Students danced, enjoyed pizza, had costume contests, and dance off competitions. The $250 raised for this event will be used to take the middle school to see BreakDown STL in St. Clair during the month of November. BreakDown STL is a group that educates, equips and empowers teens to make positive life choices related to high-risk youth trends.
TREND leaders have also been busy planning Red Ribbon Week. RRW is a week we concentrate on remaining tobacco, drug, and alcohol free. Elementary students saw a skit about Going Bananas to be Drug Free in which Banana had to be taken in by security for making bad choices with tobacco. The students were reminded of the dangers of using tobacco and ways to avoid the trap. Click here to watch a video of the skit.
Throughout the week, students will be encouraged to dress up for spirit days themed "Follow Your Dreams".
