Students Teach Others About Sticker Shock

Lonedell TREND students recently visited Edgar Murray Elemenatry to share their experiences with the 2nd annual Sticker Shock.  The National Council of Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NCADA) works with the Franklin Co TREND Coalition to bring area schools together to share in  the knowledge of what TREND clubs are doing. For Sticker Shock, our students went to area businesses and put stickers on cases of beer and alcohol letting patrons know that TREND students care about illegal alcohol being provided to their peers.  Click here to read details about that event.

Three of our TREND students, Madi U., Riley L., and Ashley M. presented what they learned.  Additionally our students got to see the presentations from other TREND Clubs including Spring Bluff and Immaculate Conception Union.  The kids were also able to experience what it might feel like to be under the influence of alcohol by trying virtual reality glasses while attempting to complete simple tasks.
