Spell A Thon Earners Enjoy The Zone
Students who participated in the Lonedell Scholarship SpellAThon event have again raised big money to help the Scholarship Committee provide scholarships to Lonedell graduates taking on post-secondary education. Each year students who participate in the event have the chance to earn money through donations or sponsors. After taking the school wide spelling test, students collect those pledges and count up their donation.
Students who donated $100 or over were treated to a field trip to The Zone in Rolla on Friday, April 12. Students enjoyed a morning of bounce houses, skating, video games, laser tag, and mechanical bull riding. This year, over 50 students qualified for the trip. Students who raised over $100 were treated to a McDonald's lunch on Monday, April 15 and received a Walmart gift card for 10 percent of their donation. Students who donated any amount received extra recess and an ice cream treat.
Our Scholarship Committee couldn't support our students without the generous donations of our community.
