Graduation Held

On Tuesday, June 30, our 8th grade students celebrated with a socially distanced graduation.  While the event looked a little different than most years, the graduates and their guests were as proud as could be.

Dalton R. and Abby T. led the crowd of family and friends in prayer and pledges.  The graduates were welcomed by Superintendent Jenny Ulrich, who reminded them that even though this year wasn't what we had planned, they were stronger for the challenges life will bring.  Following Mrs. Ulrich, Mrs. Hill mentioned scholarships that have been awarded this year, totaling $10,500.

Academic awards were given by our middle school staff.  These awards included academic, clubs, and concluded with Mrs. Vollmer announcing the Citizenship Award.  This honor was awarded to Cohen B..  "Our Citizenship winner this year has a genuine sweet spirit, they show their concern for others by always talking with staff and trying to include other students....What we appreciate most about this student is that he is so polite," stated Vollmer.

Followed  by awards, Mrs. Brissette announce the Salutatorian, Kailyn M.  When she addressed the crowd, Kailyn said, "When I moved here in 6th grade, I was welcomed with open arms. I have learned so much."  Zander A., Valedictorian, shared his gratefulness to his teachers, "I'd like to thank my teachers for helping me strive to do my best and become Valedictorian."

Finally, it was time for each student to receive their diploma from School Board President, Brad Rucker.  As each name was called, cheers rang out throughout the crowd.  Once all of the graduate's names had been read, students were invited to turn their tassels as confetti flew.   Students walked out to a variety of songs chosen by the students.

Each of these students will move on to various high schools in our area.  We are very proud of you, Class of 2020.  Do great things!
